We started off our day watching the parade. Not the best we've ever seen, but good for our lil' country town. Kurt had the chance to be in the parade this year with his baseball team. We were excitedly waiting to see him.
Apparently, he doesn't care for bagpipes

Seemed backwards. Shouldn't the dad be pushing the little girl?
Not sure if they were really in the parade or just crashed the party
Working hard gathering candy for he and Kurt
And here he is! One of the last floats. Can you tell he's been waving now for almost 2 hours? (the parade wasn't that long, it was all just really slow)
He sees me and has his energy renewed! Big smiles, but all out of candy for us :(
And to finish it off, a giant army water tanker to hose us all down
Walking down to pick Kurt up, we saw that our favorite ice cream joint was selling cones for $1. Couldn't pass it up.
Um, excuse me dear, but you've got a little bit of ice cream on your face just there.
Then we headed down to IF to see how the festivities there would compare. We wandered for a while before settling down for the wait. The boys watched Hook (thank you portable DVD player) and Brandon and I people watched. There were some really not great specimens. Then it became the challenge to get a picture of them without them knowing it. Much harder than I thought it would be. It seemed they always looked right at me! Yikes! This guy won the best/worst of the day. I followed him down the riverfront to get a picture of him because I chickened out when he walked past us. Grown man, full face painting, put on a lion show for all those who gawked. Pretty sure he was a little tipsy too...

Getting a little tired of waiting
Still enjoying Hook
Sun is down, getting ready to start!
Happy 4th of July!
