Mr. President

Kurt wanted to try to see President Obama when he came to town. I took him because I thought it was important because whether I agree with him or not, he is still the elected President of this country. We waited outside the field house with the supporters and protestors. This man came out and Kurt got very excited, "Look Mom, there he is! There is the President Obama!" :) Obviously not him...

And Mr. Obama actually exited on the other side of the building and whipped away before Kurt had a chance to see him. I was able to catch this picture of his car, but that's as close as we got.

"Wearin' helmet, being safe"

Kurt and Luke have become the helmet "police." They call out every person on a bike, motorcycle, scooter, skateboard, etc. and tell me and each other if they're being safe. With springtime (bike riding time) approaching, we thought it was time we got the boys helmets. They were very excited about them.

Leprechaun's

I'd read somewhere about leprechaun's coming to visit the night before St. Patty's Day. If you left out a treasure chest, they would leave some of their treasures for you to find. So, the boys decorated a box (I wouldn't call it a treasure chest) hoping they'd stop by.

In addition to the treasures, the leprechauns also did some mischief. This year, they turned our toilet water GREEN! Kurt thought that was pretty crazy, and crazier when it turned blue after some use. :)

Spring Break - Dubuque Style

We didn't have time to do go far, but we wanted to have some family fun. So we drove over to Dubuque, IA. We did some bowling and some water sliding. Surprisingly, the boys couldn't get enough of the water slides. We went over and over and over. A very fun day.

Beans are Healthy

Kurt is very determined about dessert some nights, especially Mondays. Tonight we had dinner a bit late and were just trying to get them to finish so they could get to bed. Daddy told him to finish his 2 bites so he could go up and get jammies on. Kurt starts whining...

"But we haven't even had our sessert yet?!"

M: "Kurt, it's okay. Just finish and I'll get you your dessert."

K: "What is our sessert?"

D: "Beans!"

K: "No dad, beans are not for sessert. We do not eat beans for sessert."

D: "Why?"

K: "Because beans are healthy foods!"

Ah, his logic made us both giggle. Yes, yes, we only eat non-healthy foods for dessert. But really, could we get away with calling broccoli or peas dessert? :)

Bananas on your head?

We were talking about people wearing helmuts when they ride bikes, and Brandon said that some people wear bandanas. Kurt was confused..."No Dad, we don't wear bananas on our heads!"

Craftyness

I've had a lot of projects on my mind or on my desk for awhile now, and I finally got 2 of them finished!

Kurt is very excited and proud of our FHE board. He loves to check and see where his name is.

And I'm hoping that these cute filing boxes will help with our ever consuming paper stacks.

Finally got a new camera...

After a year of searching, researching, testing, giving up, searching again, giving up, testing, etc...I finally just bit the bullet and bought the Canon Rebel. It will take me some time to learn how to use all the fancy features, but it is easy to use point and shoot too. I LOVE the speed and the clarity of the few pictures I've taken. I'll have to get used the size, but the pictures definitely make up for it. What do you think?
