Merry-Go-Round Day

The last Friday of the month came again and I told Kurt that today he'd get to ride the merry-go-round again. He was very excited and told Daddy it was "Merry-Go-Round Day." Brandon had to teach, so he dropped us off to play. We had a little time to kill before the free rides started so we played trains at the book store and ran around the play area. Then we headed down to the merry-go-round. The boys and I rode and rode and rode and rode for a half and hour before Brandon got back. I was a little dizzy myself, but the boys really enjoyed themselves. They rode again with daddy 2-3 more times.

Cupcakes

It was Kurt's friend Isaac's birthday. We decided we should make him some fun cupcakes. Mostly Kurt just wanted to eat them - well, he mostly just wanted to lick the frosting off and eat all the candy.

Sharing

As Luke eyed Kurt's candy cane, Kurt decided he could share with him.

Then, mean mommy said "No more for Luke." He wasn't very happy with me.

Boring Cookies

K: Hey Mamma, are you gonna make cookies today?

M: Sure, if you want. Do you wanna help me?

K: Oh! Yes! That sounds like it'd be awesome! Can we make gingerbread cookies?

M: Well, I was thinking more like chocolate chip cookies. What do you think?

K: Hmm (insert his serious thinking face here), I think that sounds boring (insert a thumbs down here).

Piggies

We were driving home and Kurt decided he needed to take one shoe and one sock off, I'm not sure why. But soon after he began telling himself the piggy story. His version was a little different...
This little piggy went to the market
This little piggy wants a cookie
This little piggy go over the doorstop
This little piggy can't remember the words
This little piggy went to the market

All Gone

Mommy, it seems that my breakfast is all gone. But I can see you... :)

I'm a Daddy's Boy

It's always been a joke with Kurt about "Whose boy are you?" Even Grammy Brooke sometimes gets in on the action. We all try to get him to be our boy. So yesterday we were driving home and Brandon asked him whose boy he was (Lately he is always Daddy's so I'm trying to get him back). Kurt said, "I'm Daddy's boy!" Brandon laughs and cheers. And I started to "cry" to perhaps win with the sympathy vote. To which Brandon told him to say, "Stop crying faker." And he did.
Then, we get home and are in the house and Brandon asked again, "Whose boy are you?" Kurt responds enthusiastically "Daddy's boy!!" So I sniffled again and unprompted Kurt says "Stop crying faker!" It's so hard to keep a straight face, so I'm "crying" and laughing and giving Brandon the "look what you taught him face." And I told Kurt I was sad b/c he was being mean to me. And he says, "Yes, I am being mean to you."
Your wish has been granted Daddy. He is no longer Mommy's boy, he is all yours.

Happy Valentines Day

I made Brandon a yummy dinner and some fondue (we tried to use all our KinderEggs, but they were too waxy...) for dessert. Kurt really enjoyed eating our dessert. But not the chocolate, just the fruit. Brandon and I also went miniature golfing - sadly, our first game together. And, like I told him 6 years ago, I am a "Parkland Putter Champion."

Keeping with daddy's tradition...we got the boys a small little present
A little table bowling game for Kurt - he still talks about when we went bowling and how we're going to go again all the time
Yea! A brown paper bag!
And an elephant for the little guy

Making Valentines

Valentines for Daddy

We love making strawberry rice crispy treats - one step yummier than the original

And of course he had to make a few trains for himself... I love you Daddy!

Mmmm, "finger" lickin' good

Big Brother

Loves helping lil' bro cruise around the house
(also has an obsession with being "naked")

Car Run

My mom has this really cool toy that both the boys loved. She actually has two, so they could each have their own.

Future Balla's

Hey, Batta, batta, Swing!!
Me too!

Enjoying the 60's

It was warmer in Washington during February than it was when we were there in June. Kurt loved playing outside with all Ammy and PapaBob's toys. He especially liked riding "his" bike up and down their long driveway.
He's poppin' a wheelie here, but it's hard to tell with the camera angle and all...He likes clicking at the horses and making horse noises at them.
He also decided that it was time to water Ammy's flowers.

Brothers

Kurt asked if Luke could have a ride too
We had a dettachment issue while we were visiting.
Literally, couldn't put him down without waterworks - even if it was for something fun!
Kurt thought he might try giving him a ride
So it just must have been my pulling skills (or lack there-of).
He had a blast riding along when Kurt pulled him.

Talking to Daddy

When I was little(r), I remember thinking how cool it would be to talk to someone "on the phone" and be able to see them. And now we do it all the time. We got to talk with Daddy a lot while we were gone. It was fun.

Point Defiance Zoo

The one thing Kurt wanted to do in Washington was to go to the zoo (we don't have one very close to us right now). We almost didn't make it, but I was glad that we did.
They've remodeled since I was there last (which was a long time ago). This bear used to be up from the main entrance, but now is in the center of it all.

Look at the "Peatock" This one roams free (aparently) and even followed us outside when we were done. Kurt thought he was funny.
One of the elephants. We were there as they were getting ready to take her inside for the night. So we got to watch her have her shower, get her feet and nails scrubbed and eating a few snacks.
The walruses. These guys put on quite a show. They "arfed" or whatever you call their noise. They waved, they shot snot out their nose and they stood up for us and talked.

A few of Santa's reindeer
We even got to ride the merry-go-round a few times. They both really liked this part (which is also new to the zoo)
