Blackfoot with Charlie & Daeg

Charlie, Daeg, Fos, Boog & Mino came to Idaho to surprise their Grandma, and stopped to visit their Grandpa Jas too. Since Grandpa Jas lives so close to us, we went to go visit and play with them. We were almost to their house and I saw a 4 wheeler on the road coming at me. I thought, "Funny. That guy thinks he can just drive on the road. Idaho..." Then we get closer to each other and then I slam on my breaks because that "guy" is my brother. :)

He asked my boys if they wanted to ride back with him and they both said yes. I followed behind them and was worried that they were both screaming their heads off. They were, but not with fear, with pure joy! He said they LOVED it!

We went out again a bit later with the cousins to ride and they took things over. Charlie made sure I could see who was driving. :) Kurt was haulin' booty and having the time of his life! If you look close, you can see Boogie's head in between Kurt and Charlie.
Here he is just after his ride, telling me how "Awesome!" it was. I love his hair in this picture - pure windblown.
I was down the driveway a bit talking to Boog and Kurt and I turned around and saw Daegan prancing down towards us, singing. At least I thought she was. She was actually screaming because she'd just seen THIS!
She'd heard birds chirping and dancing and went to go see what they were up to. They were yelling about their mother/brother/sister being eaten by what she thought was a rattlesnake. Charlie dutifully put all the kids behind the 4-wheeler and grabbed a gigantic pole/stick from out of his truck so that he could smash it? And then Daegan's sister told us all that it wasn't really a rattlesnake. This snake actually eats rattlesnakes so he shouldn't kill it. So we watched the snake eat his lunch. It was pretty crazy.
Couldn't get them all to look and smile at the same time...
Okay, check out Charlie's face here :)
He showed Luke how to drive it - make it go faster and slower, and then let him take control. And Luke pushed it full gusto and just about knocked Charlie off!
He was a serious driver. Didn't take his eyes off the road for nothing, especially not to smile for my picture.
Then, after all that excitement, we went to ride the horses!
I'd like to blame the lighting for all the poor pictures, but I can't. Sorry.
Kurt was very excited for this. Loving the horse ride.
But was riding enough? No. He wanted to run!
Luke didn't seem to happy to be on the horse at first.
But he got into after the first couple minutes and had a great time!
How about a little hay bale jumpin' while we wait our turns on the horse? Luke was all for it!
Well, maybe not. It appears there is a limit to our little dare devil.
Remember this shot for the follow up a bit further down...
Kurt could handle the first level, but not the second
Okay, remember the picture I told you to remember? Sliding down the bale of hay will leave you with a few momentos :)
Poor kid. That stuff was deep in there and very plentiful.
But he wasn't done with his day of adventures yet. He thought it might also be fun to FLY!

We had a WONDERFUL day out with our family. Can't wait to see you again!
Being away for so long you get used to the idea of being your one solitary family. I miss everyone all of the time, but even more so when we do get to see them. It reminds me of all we're missing out on. The only thing this day was missing was our Dad. I wished he could've taken the day off to come play with us too.

Whatcha Gonna Do When They Come For You?

Whenever Brandon hears a siren, he looks at me and says, "They found you. They're coming to get you." Or, when I drive through a yellow light, he makes a siren noise at me and does the whole cop voice through the walkie-talkie, "Excuse me, you've just broken the law. We're gonna have to take you in..."

Today I drove through a yellow light (had just turned as I crossed the intersection) and from the back seat I hear a loud siren. It was Kurt :)

Again, the Police

Kurt was being a sassy turkey and wouldn't listen so Brandon said, "Hey look, theres a cop right there. We'll just give you to him and have him take you to jail."

A short period of silence, very short, before he responded (still full of sass)

"No. I don't want to go to jail. I'm not going. You guys don't want to lose me."

Preschool Art

I purge. I know. Doesn't moving give me permissions to do so? I hope he doesn't get mad at me when he's older. But I took pictures to document his pretty pictures - that counts doesn't it?

This isn't a picture of Mama, but a picture for Mama :)

Blue Boogers

Ya know when you work outside in the yard and then that night and the next day you have black boogers? Well, I cut up blue jeans off and on for 2 days and ended up with blue boogers. Well, that and 300 squares ready to be assembled. :)

Fathers Day

We love our Daddy! And so we tried to spoil him from morning til night.
We started with breakfast in bed
Kurt carried the food, I carried the juice and Luke carried the very important fork
Daddy's "surprise!" He had no idea all the banging around we were doing was cooking him breakfast :)
Then some presents - boring things like shirts and ties
And then the exciting one - just what he's wanted for a few months now. He had no idea that when we bought this at Ace the day before that it was for him :)
He couldn't wait to use it
Then this has nothing to do with Fathers Day, but Luke found this in the Friend and wanted to make them for snack. I had to improvise a few facial parts and there was no complaining from the boys.
We finished our day with a delicious dinner - chicken (don't remember what sauce we used), potatoes and peas, Dad's favorite.

Airshow

We went to the airshow and saw a few cool planes
And a Chopper bike
