Pella

Another fun family day trip
We made in time to see the tractor "rodeo"
Here's an obstacle course
This is some tractor balancing
The tulips bloomed early this year (so they said) because of the early warm temperatures. So by the time of the festival most of them were done and dying.
Here are a few pictures of the dutch art on the walls all over town
This is the Vermeer Mill (if you look close you can see all the boys at the bottom)
Jumbo dutch shoes
The high school girls doing some traditional dances
They had a number which required some volunteers
Ford Edsel...Remember this talk?
No trip is complete without trying some new foods. These are Poffertjes (kindof like puffy, fried pancakes)
And a Dutch Letter
Right before the parade they had a traditional? street cleaning. These two led the way.
The guys poured the water out while the ladies and children swept it all up.
A view down the street of the mill
It was a lighted parade since it was evening. This post is already long enough, so I'm only putting 1 up of the parade.
More shoes
