Carthage / Nauvoo

One last trip down to Nauvoo before we moved. This time we also went to see Carthage Jail.

Kurt was very sad to be leaving this temple- he said that this was his temple and he didn't want a new or different one.

The brown log was the original size (purchased from someone) and then later added the white siding to the left, then later still the white siding to the front.

Interim and Final Resting places

The small shed (called the Bee House) was the 2nd or 3rd place that Joseph and Hyrum's bodies were hidden. The bush to the right of the shed is the marker for someone's first grave as well ( I want to say Emma's, but I already can't remember).

The bodies were later moved down further into the "family cemetery" down closer to the Mississippi River.
